IN2 project “Do not call” protects citizens from telesales
Register “Do not call” developed by IN2 Ltd. was presented yesterday in the session Consumer Protection National Council.
The clients who ordered the register are Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, and the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency (HAKOM), and the aim is to protect citizens from unwanted phone calls and SMS/text messages in advertisement campaigns, and distant sale activities. Sales persons who will use telephone numbers and mobile phone numbers that are in the register (to make their initial approach) for telemarketing will face high money fines. Surveys are not prohibited.
HAKOM integrated service in its web pages where everyone can check if a certain number is in the register. Subscription in the register is possible with assistance of responsible telecom. Integration of register with e-citizens service is in plan, which will allow applying into register electronically, with no use of paper forms.
Register has been developed on MS.NET platform and MS SQL server.
