Katarina Šiber Makar named as the new CEO of the IN2 Group
Katarina Šiber Makar, current member of the management board, has been named as the new president of the board of the IN2 Group. The change at the leadership position comes about ten days after the largest Croatian software company was bought by the Canadian Constellation Software Inc.
"IN2 is one of the largest and most long-lived IT companies in the region. The company has an impressive base of satisfied clients and extraordinary employees. Such a success and potential are rare in any industry and would represent a challenge for almost anyone. My priority, as the new president of the management board, is for IN2 to continue to do business and grow with all the positive characteristics that our employees and our customers value. Our membership in the global CSI group will open up completely new, exciting development opportunities. In our further development, we want to continue to provide services and software solutions that will best meet the business needs and goals of our clients, and we want to be one of the key players in the digital transformation of the economy and of the public services," Katarina Šiber Makar has said.
Constellation Software Inc. took over the IN2 group through its subsidiary, the Vela Operating Group, and IN2 will continue to operate as an independent group with a strong focus on existing clients and markets where it already has a strong presence. Moreover, the process of co-operation and integration with Vela Group will strengthen IN2's competencies and its market potential. Constellation Software Inc. is a global group based in Canada, and has over 13,000 employees working in more than 200 companies across 5 continents.
Ante Mandić, the founder of IN2 and up until now its owner, has reached an agreement on the acquisition of the IN2 group with Constellation Software with a desire for the IN2 to stay autonomous at its core and for it to stay true to its core values, which he believes will be a foundation for further growth of the business. Ante Mandić will continue to be active in the IN2 group as a Business Development Advisor to the Management Board.
Katarina Šiber Makar has been a board member at the IN2 Group since June 2016. She came to IN2 from Deutsche Telekom where she was the EU vice-president for digital transformation in group's 12 markets. She has previously held management positions at Croatian Telecom, T-Mobile, Barr Pharmaceuticals and Pliva. She has a degree from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and also holds a master's degree in economics and a doctorate in information systems and telecommunications.
